Some testimonials from participants in the 2016 International RYLA.

I’m surprised in a very positive way, big integration, there is no split between the Poles and the Swedes. In the group there are not only Rotary members but also people that are not familiar with Rotary. They started searching about Rotary only after applying for this course, now they’re asking about Rotary and trying to get to know as much as possible. The program is very intensive, it makes us think and cooperate, we have to play various roles. Ewa
Ewa Furlepa, RC Zamość Ordynacki

The whole training is really well prepared. I’ve never been to Poland before and I haven’t expected such a warm welcome. I’ve got to know so much about the culture differences between Polish and Swedish leadership. I’d like to participate in RYLA next year, maybe as a lecturer this time. I will also promote this event in my city since it’s so valuable! I liked that we were made to play various roles. Caroline

I come from Romania. I’ve been living in Sweden for 11 years, I have two kids. I was doubtful before I came here. But after coming here, I’ve met so many new friends, I have many new contacts now. There is time to talk about Rotary, I haven’t heard about Rotary before. Gabriel

The idea of linking two countries is very interesting. If not for the Polish participants, the role-playing-scenes would be totally different. I like the practical tasks very much, we had a chance to play our roles. Michal

I was expecting more passive participation. And here I was told to get directly inside the
whole situation and feel how it is to be attacked when somebody doesn’t agree with me or how to stand by my opinion even if I’m criticized. Culture differences were visible, we understand various situations differently. Agnieszka

The best part was learning in active way. Usually we get the theory that you might find in the books. We’ve made many new friends and that’s a great part of Rotary – building friendships across borders. I’ve been a Rotary member since 2014, I’ve also participated in
RYLA training in Sweden. What actually encouraged me to take part in RYLA again was the information that the group will be consisting of both Swedes and Poles. This is something new. I’m an IT manager, I work in an international environment and getting know the culture differences is something that I really need. Jimmy
